Debbie Valinsky is the Executive Assistant at McCall Golf & Country Club. She is responsible for numerous secretarial and bookkeeping duties at McCall along with supporting PECO Energy’s Quarter Century Club.
Originally from Southampton, Pennsylvania, she graduated from William Tennent High School and went to work at Philadelphia Electric Company right out of high school. She came to McCall in January, 1995 and has enjoyed working with the staff and seeing old familiar faces and meeting new ones from the PECO family.
She currently resides in Turnersville, New Jersey, with her husband of thirty years. Debbie and her husband have two sons (Joey, 27 and Jeff, 23) and a 5-year old beagle named Molly.
In her spare time when not working at McCall, Debbie enjoys playing tennis, golf, gardening, traveling, and watching her sons play baseball.
Director Golf & Facilities
Joe has been associated with PECO Energy since 1987 and came to McCall in 1995. Joe was born and raised in Conshohocken but resides in Jeffersonville with his wife Kathleen. Joe has four boys in various stages of their own lives (Dr. Joe Jr., 27, Chris, 25, at PSU, Andrew, 22, an RN at the U of P Hospital and John, 20, at PSU).
At McCall, Joe is responsible for the 77 acres of grounds, which include the golf course, two baseball fields, four tennis courts and flower beds and lawns around the clubhouse and Pro Shop buildings. Joe is also responsible for the physical building and equipment maintenance at McCall. Joe’s office is located in the Pro Shop/Maintenance Building and is always available to answer just about any question about McCall.
Food and Beverage Director
I have been involved in the service and hospitality industry since I was 14 years old. I started my career in 1974 as a busboy at Llanerch Country Club located in Havertown, PA, and continued to progress through the ranks to achieve a Clubhouse Manager’s position in 1996 until 2002. I then moved on to continue my passion for quality service and the country club atmosphere by obtaining the Clubhouse Manager’s position at Rolling Green Golf Club located in Springfield, PA, from 2002 until 2011. In May of 2011, I was fortunate to join McCall Golf and Country Club as the food and beverage manager, and look forward to bringing my experience and enthusiasm for this business to the quality food, service, and facilities we have to offer!
I am a current member of CMAA (Club Managers Association of America) and have utilized this network of fellow associates throughout my entire career. I completed my certification classes at California Poly Pamona and Georgia State University in Business Management I and Business Management II.
I was born in southwest Philadelphia and attended Monsignor Bonner High School in Drexel Hill. I eventually moved out to Delaware County and currently reside in Drexel Hill.
Marketing & Event Coordinator
Kathleen Verzella is the Marketing and Events Coordinator at McCall Golf and Country Club. She began working at McCall Golf and Country Club at sixteen years old. Over the next six years she moved through several positions at McCall including serving and bartending. While working at McCall she continued her education at Widener University. Kathleen graduated from Widener University in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management.
After graduation, she began working at Gulph Mills Golf Club in King of Prussia, PA as their Assistant Clubhouse Manager. As the Assistant Clubhouse Manager she aided the Clubhouse Manager in overseeing all Clubhouse operations, food and beverage operations, and major events.
Bill Bodek is the Executive Chef of McCall Golf & Country Club and the PECO Beneficial Association.
Chef Bill was born and raised locally and attended South Philadelphia High School. After attending Temple University, Bill then began working in the culinary and foodservice industries which has lasted for over 30 years. He started years ago working with the Wendy’s Corporation as one of their store managers and then as a General Manager with the Domino Pizza Corporation.
He then proceeded to work at Llanerch Country Club for fifteen years, the first two years as a Line Chef and the next 12 years as their Banquet Chef working with Chef Roger Guiyard who has been listed as one of Delaware County’s top Chefs.
Some of Bill’s hobbies are bowling and gardening. He resides in Upper Darby with his wife Noparat and their three children.
Eric grew up in Atco and Mount Laurel, NJ. He started playing golf at age 13. After playing on the Holy Cross High School team he pursued golf at Burlington County College. Eric transferred to West Chester University and spent another three years attending school there. He moved on to Kennett Square Golf & Country Club, where he became an assistant. Eric spent six years at Kennett Square, where he also met his wife, Kelly.
In the spring of 2009, Eric moved on to Stonewall, in Elverson, as an assistant. He was responsible for tournament direction, course marking, and instruction. Eric served the Philadelphia Section PGA as an officer of the Philadelphia Assistants Organization. He served as secretary, treasurer, tournament director, and chairman. Eric also received the Arthur W. Brosius Award, which is awarded to the assistant who has shown improvement in his career and personal life.
Eric brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm to McCall. He enjoys all aspects of running a golf operation, but specifically merchandising, teaching and tournaments. In his spare time, Eric enjoys playing golf, sports and spending time with his family. Eric is also active in Philadelphia PGA Section events. Eric and his wife have two children, MacKenzie and Mason.
